STYLE GURU STYLE: Roughed Up

Although the weather in New Jersey seemed to feel more like September than it did December, things are beginning to cool down with the start of the New Year (hello global warming). Wearing light jackets and no hats or gloves was a good run, and I will definitely miss warmer weather. With that, I am totally ready for big sweaters and layers upon layers.

Even before the start of 2016, runways and fashion magazines were already predicting what would be the latest trends in the upcoming year. One brand that really caught my eye was the BCBGMAXAZRIA  resort 2016 collection, which helped me compose my look. The looks were very neutral in color; However, added flairs of leather jackets and boots to show a “roughed-up version.” BCBGMAXAZRIA also played with many different textures, which was one of my favorite parts about the collection.

My outfit channeled this runway look by playing with different textures and colors of clothing, while also being practical and keeping myself warm. I used the neutral colors that were portrayed throughout the runway in my cowl neck sweater and paired it with a black, textured leather jacket and black boots. Just for the add of color that is seen in a few outfits of BCBGMAXAZRIA collection, I incorporated blue eye shadow and matched it with a large, royal blue clutch.

Neutral colored items with motorcycle leather jackets and boots will definitely make its way into the trends of 2016.

Get My Look: 1. Cowl neck sweater. 2. Faux leather jacket. 3. Navy blue clutch. 4. Blue eyeshadow.
