STYLE GURU STYLE: Roses Are Red

Only in my dreams could I wear Valentino. One of my many lifelong fashion goals is to own a piece from Valentino, even if I don’t have a glamorous event to wear it to. The Valentino resort 2016 collection is what every bohemian style obsessed Fashionista’s dreams are made of. It has the consistent theme of embroidered flowers in bright colors on styles ranging from short midi dresses to long, elegant, flower adorned gowns. Under the flowers the garments are mostly made of a sheer black lace. The flowers and lace complement each other well, making these outfits some of the most coveted and beautiful creations I have ever seen.

I wanted to create my own Valentino-inspired outfit using the bohemian and floral theme of the resort collection. I found these pants at H&M when I was in New York, and I love the slit up the side of the legs. The slit goes up to almost your thighs and while these pants are something different I wouldn’t normally wear, I’m glad I took the risk because they are such a fun piece to have in my wardrobe! For the rest of my outfit I decided to keep it simple, pairing my statement pants with a plain white crop top and a white halter bralette underneath to add to the bohemian style. For my accessories I went to my go-tos—a nude sandal and a single gold bracelet. I almost always keep my accessories minimal, but there are so many ways you could add your own personal style to an outfit like this with a hat or a statement necklace!
