STYLE GURU STYLE: Rompin' Around

Ah, the romper. It blends the flirtiness of a sundress and the comfort of printed shorts into one adorable, easy and comfortable piece. Rompers are literally a girl’s best friend, and if you don’t own one by now—run, don’t walk, to the nearest mall and pick one up. You’ll thank me later.

Rompers have been in for some time now, but this summer they’ll be in the spotlight more than ever. Nearly every store offers their own version of a romper, so you’ll be able to find one that you love regardless of your personal style. They were even all over the runway, showcased by popular designers Alice McCall and BCBGMAXAZRIA.

The BCBGMAXAZRIA spring ready-to-wear collection is awesome because it incorporates light, airy fabrics into everyday silhouettes. Nearly all of the looks in the collection are head to toe white, which is another huge trend popping up all over this summer. All-white is a daring and chic look that anyone can pull off! Extra bonus: it shows off your killer tan.

This fun and flirty look is perfect for day or night. I wore this out to dinner with friends, but it would be perfect for running errands or going out as well.

Believe it or not, this little romper is from the store that defined my middle school years – Abercrombie & Fitch. Abercrombie & Fitch has really stepped it up lately, believe it or not. They’ve ditched the idea of plastering “A&F” and a little moose on everything and started to come out with some really cute pieces. Example A: this romper! I’m a sucker for white and lace, and putting them together in a romper made this purchase a no-brainer for me. This romper would fit perfectly in the BCBGMAXAZRIA ready-to-wear collection. The breezy style and pretty lace perfectly capture what the designer is going for.

I paired this little number with my favorite sandals for a more casual look. You could totally add wedges for those dressier occasions.

P.S.: If you like these sandals and have been uncertain of the price, I promise you they’re worth every penny. I wear mine every single day. They go with everything from sundresses to chinos to Nike shorts.

Cross-body bags are my favorite, and I especially love this one. The red is perfect for adding a fun pop of color to simple outfits like this one. Plus, the size is perfect for carrying all of my essentials.

As for accessories, I kept it really simple. The lace bodice on this romper is so pretty and delicate that it speaks for itself and doesn’t need much else to enhance it. I think a simple necklace or some statement earrings would add some glam to the look, but the look I was going for was a more laid-back, boho one and called for simplicity. I just wore pearl studs and a simple gold ring, both things that I wear pretty much everyday.

Rompers are easy and adorable — perfect for a day of shopping or a night on the town. Comfortable, cute and 100 percent versatile, a romper is a wardrobe necessity in every college girl’s closet.

Get My Look: 1. A fun romper. 2. A cross-body bag. 3. Simple sandals that go with everything.
