STYLE GURU STYLE: Rompers and Jumpers

The spring 2015 Saloni collection makes me incredibly elated because for one I love jumpsuits and rompers; they’re just as easy as dresses but so much more unique. For two, bold patterns make me feel like I am the fiercest girl in the room. Fashion is all about you, and your tastes, and personally, I love getting noticed. The other thing I adore that Saloni has done is mixed textures, which (as you can see above) I think is another great way to get noticed.

So the only problem I have with Saloni’s collection (besides the fact that I have no money and I want it all) is that it’s not casual. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about standing out, but not in an overdressed way. However, I decided this week to make spring Saloni 2015 my own.

I started out by first not wearing silk, but instead wearing cotton. It’s a simple switch, which tones down the whole outfit. Next, I switched out the full length jumpsuit for a romper. It’s way too hot for me to be in pants in D.C. in May. But, in order to keep the spirit of Saloni alive, I played with the portions of the top I wore underneath, and kept it short with a crop top. I made sure to add some fun, bright jewelry to make sure that I had my own personal flair thrown in. And (although I’m not sure they are visible in every shot), I wore glitter flats to add a glamorous vibe to an otherwise casual outfit.

Get my look: 1. A fun, pink crop top. 2. A pair of short overalls. 3. An adorable bow necklace.
