STYLE GURU STYLE: Resort Runway Ready

Temperatures have plummeted to an all time low, with a record of negative six degrees in Illinois, making it safe it say that winter is in full swing. However, in my last days in paradise, I have become inspired by kate spade’s cruise 2015 collection. The swim line was first seen on Miami’s Fashion Week runway, next hitting the Gansevoort Park Avenue Rooftop in New York City. Kate spade’s swimwear is sophisticated and fun, with a pop of color and mix-matching patterns. My wardrobe mainly consists of black, so this ’60s-inspired collection allowed me the opportunity to try a new ensemble that gave me the sun-soaked look I need in south Florida.

I decided to go for a white romper with a blue floral pattern. The low neckline and botanic print make this piece both fun and flirty. I complemented my romper with an intense watercolor blouse, giving my look a more sophisticated appearance, as demonstrated in the kate spade new york collection. To add some more flare, I topped this look off with layered necklaces. These accessories tie together all the colors seen in my outfit. To keep it simple with all eyes focused on my mixed patterns, I finished the look with tan gladiators to match my cross-body bag.

The kate spade cruise 2015 collection encouraged me to keep my look vibrant and playful. The result? I got risky with my closet and assembled a display that will wow any winter vacationer. I found a look that may not be warming for below freezing temperatures, but sensational for that luxurious cruise or five star resort. After all, when in Rome…

Get my look: 1. Floral romper. 2. Colorful teardrop necklace. 3. Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.
