STYLE GURU STYLE: Rad And Retro

At this point, it is almost unrealistic for me to imagine straying away from ’60s and ’70s inspired wardrobe. Basically every outfit that I envision and bring to life is rooted back to bohemian style. I recently came across the alice + olivia winter 2016 ready-to-wear runway collection, and there wasn’t a single piece that didn’t speak to me! I connected with this selection so much because, as much as I love the comeback of retro trends, I have to put my own modern twist on things.

It is almost impossible to make it through this frigid weather without layering. I incorporated my favorite theme in this catwalk collection: the boho-chic patterns and fabrics. This dream catcher cardigan was the perfect fit, even down to the color scheme . The fringed bottom just adds to the rad factor. My personal twist is layered over the simple pairing of a black bodysuit and black high-rise skinny jeans. The cuffed ankles make all the difference! As always, you can never go wrong by topping things off with chic outerwear; the classic black peacoat.

My shoe of choice this winter has easily been heeled ankle booties. This brown suede pair is definitely the current go-to in my closet. The suede material in particular really reflects that late ’60s/early ’70s vibe. Mixing black and brown base colors calls for gold accessories. This unique double necklace against the high neckline of the bodysuit is the perfect combination and is paired with simple gold ball earrings and a unique ring arrangement. Last but not least, the two things that never fail to bring everything together: sunglasses and a black satchel handbag.
