STYLE GURU STYLE: Printed Shift Dress

Typically when I look through runway show pictures I see a lot of outrageous looks that I would personally never wear. That’s why when I came across the Bally resort 2016 collection I was pleasantly surprised. The collection has numerous styles that I would definitely wear on a day-to-day basis. It features many current trends such as cuffed jeans, palazzo pants, cross-body bags and shift dresses. I won’t forget to mention how beautiful the colors of the collection were! Different shades of blue, white, peach and brown were so aesthetically pleasing that I stared at the collection for a few minutes just admiring the beauty.

The look that really caught my eye was look 14 which features a printed shift dress. I love the comfort of these dresses and how they require neutral accessories. Since you can find them at pretty much any store now, I decided to purchase one. This look didn’t include any jewelry pieces, but I decided to put on some rings, earrings and a watch because they have become my staple pieces. I also used my favorite wallet as a clutch because I didn’t want to cover the dress with a cross body bag. I didn’t want to carry a regular purse either because I sometimes find that when I have a big purse I throw so many needless items in them that my purse gets way too heavy to carry around all day.

Overall, I think that with a shift dress you can go casual with sandals like I did or dress it up a bit with wedges or heels depending on where you are going. Another idea is to get a monochromatic shift dress and pair it with a cute blazer. I think it would look super chic.
