STYLE GURU STYLE: Pretty In Pink

It’s not every day that a Chanel spring couture collection inspires you to dress up. And it’s certainly not every day you get to dress for what February stands for. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s already that time of month when couples get together to celebrate their love for each other, all the while being obnoxious love birds together. If you’re single, it’s that time of month when you wear your jammies just to stuff yourself with chocolates. Ladies and gentlemen, it doesn’t have to be this way this year. This time around, wear something nice and go out with the people you love and care about. Just because you don’t have a special someone to celebrate with, don’t deprive yourself from being able to celebrate the month of love with your loved ones. If that doesn’t motivate you, then I hope that my cute little Valentine’s dress will.

Inspired by look 71 of the Chanel spring 2015 couture collection, I chose this up-to-the-knee short baby pink dress from H&M that just screamed Valentine’s Day. Its shimmering color and polka-dots remind me of the sparkly and flowery two-piece of look 71. It also reminded me of a modern version of Andie Walsh’s dress in Pretty in Pink. It sings out this ‘80s flare that I just fell in love with when it first caught my eye. I had to buy it! My favorite part of the dress is the see-through lace sections of it at the top and bottom. It gives it the right amount of sexy appeal to the dress. Since it’s been snowing like crazy in Syracuse, I paired the dress with black tights and some short black heels (which I only wore inside, duh!). To add some romanticism to my look, I wore my Tiffany & Co. heart tag charm bracelet.

Remember ladies and gents, Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers, it’s for friends and family. You do have people who love you. There are no excuses. Get all pretty and handsome in red, white or pink and go out to celebrate with your loved ones!

Get My Look: 1. A cute dress in red, white or pink. 2. A heart charm bracelet. 3. A pair of black heels.
