STYLE GURU STYLE: Pretty in Mink

As we look for ways to transition into fall, jackets are what we pull out of the closet. Whether they are leather, jean, fur or faux, jackets assist us to make dresses and skirts appropriate for the fall. Every Fashionista should look like she is walking a runway, and that is what I wanted accomplished with my look.

The Saint Laurent fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection was filled with edgy vibes. From their structured silhouettes to the vibrant makeup, the collection was stunning. In particular, I was attracted to look eight. Complete with a sequin striped dress, fur jacket and heels, it was everything. It was an outfit that I could wear on the streets of New York City or on a casual walk in Paris. However, since I am not in either of those places, I translated it into something more appropriate for class in Des Moines.

The mixture of fur and stripes is focal point in my look. Instead of the bright blue coat, I decided to go with a blush tone. This gave the look a bit more of a softer tone. With my bodycon dress and mesh-rimmed stilettos, the blush coat cooled off the look and created a relaxed feeling.

The runway look was truly fun, funky and edgy. Each piece played its own role in creating these different styles. I wanted to make sure that I, not only created a similar look, but captured the mood as well. A fur jacket can be elegant, realistic, girly and more. But Saint Laurent displayed a more playful side. Remember, to have a little fun and don’t take your wardrobe too seriously.
