STYLE GURU STYLE: Powder Blue Blouse

Rebecca Minkoff’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was overflowing with powder blue blouses, surrounded by a few random bursts of color here and there. Minkoff’s ability to create looks for every occasion and every woman never fails to amaze the audience and myself. Heavily metaled handbags are paired with sophisticated, chic blouses and the combination is unlike any other.

After watching the models strut their stuff down the runway in my favorite collection thus far, I immediately started thinking of ways I could incorporate the essence, feel and color scheme into my everyday wardrobe. It all began when I stumbled upon this bright colored, fantastic Rebecca Minkoff bag on super-sale. The heavy silver chain, water-colored pattern and unique shape were just what I was looking for. It was like her spring collection had been tossed together and splattered onto a handbag; I was in love.

A blue blouse was next on the agenda. This powder blue tank top was a funky twist on the classic button-down, collared tank top that has been around for years. It was long like a dress with slits up the side—simple yet unique. Minkoff created the same look in her collection by adding quirky elements to classic designs: A-line, long skirts with high slits and a classic chambray paired with upbeat overalls. Her ability to test timeless looks is incredible.

I kept my look crisp and soft by pairing my long tank top with my favorite white skinny jeans, a belt to emphasize my waist and heeled sandals. The neutral shoes and pants screamed for a pop of color, so I added a coral, sparkly cuff bracelet as well as simple dangled earrings. The wild bag was just the right punch of fun the look needed and tied the whole Rebecca Minkoff style I was going for.

Get My Look: 1. The funky purse. 2. Powder blue blouse. 3. White skinny jeans. 4. Heeled sandals.
