STYLE GURU STYLE: Pops of Leather

Welcome, college Fashionistas! As the winter trudges on, it is easy to choose outfits that consist of bulky clothing to help shield you from the brutal weather, but that does not always need to be the only option. For a long day of classes and meetings, I decided to pair a short black leather skirt with a sheer black turtleneck. Leather skirts can be dressed up or down depending on what your schedule for the day looks like. Versatile pieces are the foundation of any great wardrobe and this skirt will for sure become one of your staples. I recently purchased this leather skirt from a small boutique in my college town but similar skirts can be found in other boutiques or on numerous retail websites, such as Urban Outfitters. To provide a sleek look, I opted for a sheer black turtleneck instead of a chunky sweater. To mask my legs from the freezing New England winds, I wore thick black opaque tights. A day full of running around required me to wear comfortable shoes, so I chose these low black leather booties to match with my leather skirt. Lastly, to warm up my outfit, I added a cozy blanket scarf as the finishing touch.

For my makeup, I used the ever classic Naked Palette to make my eyes pop, along with a super pigmented black eyeliner. I also used the Naked Flushed Cheek Palette to brighten up my face for a day of running around a snowy New England campus. For my lips, I added a moisturizing lip gloss that is perfect for the winter time.
