STYLE GURU STYLE: Pop Of Pink

Ohio: the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame and the delicious peanut butter chocolate buckeye candy. However, Ohio is also the state where the weather can change from spring to snow in what seems like a matter of minutes. With weather that can change as fast as Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s relationship, it can be a challenge to figure out what to wear from day to day.

With weather that constantly changes, layering is a must. While getting ready for a girls night out, I began my outfit with a blouse, statement necklace and simple yet fierce heels. To make my outfit more casual, I paired it with a pair of plain denim skinny jeans and a large, bronze tote bag. I added a lightweight pastel pink jacket to top it off. I absolutely love how the different shades of pink in both the jacket and the necklace work together to add a pop of color against the black and white.

I was inspired by Salvatore Ferragamo’s Spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway show. Massimiliano Giornetti, the label’s creative director, said that he had been influenced by natural, original materials and the power to transform them. While watching the runway show I saw neutral colors paired with animal or tribal print. Some ensembles had bright, colorful accents as well. The looks were sophisticated and sassy at the same time.

It’s easy to put together a chic, yet fun outfit like this; just add colorful accessories to a neutral piece to make your outfit pop!
