STYLE GURU STYLE: Polished in Plaid

March can be an awkward transition period for us Fashionistas: is it warm enough to go without a coat? Is it time for pastels? In eager anticipation for spring, we can easily forget that it is still a little chilly out. Do not put away those winter clothes yet! There are some great pieces that can easily shift from winter to spring with a little bit of styling and some personal touches.

A fabulous piece that transitions well from winter to spring flawlessly is a vest! In this look, I am wearing a red and black plaid vest with a left side zipper. The wool keeps me warm, but also allows my body to breathe and is a great way to layer. The plaid print is always a classic. Under the vest, I wore a simple, thin black turtleneck. Turtlenecks are always my go to, especially because they usually allow me to get away with not wearing a coat in colder temperatures! Light wash boyfriend jeans brighten up my look and the small ripped detail hints to big spring trends. The black beret adds a touch of femininity and keeps me warm. Simple jewelry like my silver bow ring and watch allows my plaid vest to take center stage. I polished my outfit off with black high heeled booties and a black monogrammed clutch. Adding personal details makes any look instantly unique, especially it if was given to you by someone you love.

I encourage you not to be quick to forget about your winter classics as we start to get into the spring season. Do not be afraid to mix them into your transitioning style. Be bold and confident going into this new season with layers, cozy accessories, and personal details.
