STYLE GURU STYLE: P!NK

As Miley Cyrus said, “Pink isn’t just a color, it’s an attitude too.”

I’m just going to come right out and say it! I am actually not a fan of the color pink. But as of lately, baby pink has been one of my biggest obsessions. Pastel colors were projected to be one of the hottest color trends of the season and it’s so true! Baby pink, as well as many other pastels were seen in designer Ashish Gupta’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection.

If you don’t already know, you will come to know I am a huge Rihanna fan. When she launched her Fenty collection with Puma, I was beyond excited. I saw her Leadcat Fenty slide in baby pink and I literally died! I waited an hour to purchase them on the Puma site and they sold out within the first hour, but I got mine. As soon as I placed my order I went shopping to see what I could wear with my new slides, being that I didn’t own anything pink or baby pink for that matter.

For this look I am wearing a halter crop top, vintage mom jeans, matte liquid lipstick and the Puma slides. I almost always pair my mom jeans with a crop top. The baggy versus fitted contrast always works and it’s pretty much my go-to look. I chose a basic pastel crop top to wear with my slides because I really wanted my slides to stand out and be the staple piece of this look. With these slides, you don’t have to do much to make your outfit pop as they do all the work on their own. I love mom jeans and although I wasn’t a teen in the ’90s (my dream era), I get to live out my dreams and rock mom jeans all the time now! Since my look features pastel colors, I decided to throw in a dark lip just to switch it up.

I created an easy street look very simply with this combination. It was perfect for running all of my errands and hanging with friends. Baby pink still matters and we will definitely be seeing that more and more this season!
