STYLE GURU STYLE: Pleasantly Athleisure

For this look, I was inspired by many different “athleisure” looks I’ve seen around campus, but I brought it past the typical black leggings and a crewneck. Don’t get me wrong, I love my leggings and crewnecks sometimes, but it’s fun to play around with other not-so-common options that are just as comfortable.

Okay, let’s talk about adidas for a minute. They are killing the game with their shoe and apparel designs. And if we’re being 100% honest, I prefer adidas to Nike when it comes to shoes and athletic apparel. I love what they offer and it’s at a much more affordable price.

For footwear I decided to goes with the adidas NMD. I snagged these in the color sand while I was traveling Greece. This shoe style is extremely difficult to get ahold of in the U.S. so as you can imagine I was thrilled when I finally had a pair on my feet. I absolutely love them! I paired the shoes with a suede, navy skirt from Old Navy and a grey, choker top from PacSun. When the weather gets a little cooler I’ll be wearing a jacket from adidas, which makes for the perfect summer to fall transition. If you can’t tell already, I’m kind of in love with this brand.

The cool thing about this suede skirt is that it can carry into the colder winter season as well. It looks great with black tights, booties and a thick sweater. Finding clothing items that I can wear year-round is very valuable to me, especially when they’re at a great price point. You can ask anyone, I’m a great bargain shopper.

One of my favorite parts about this outfit, and all of my outfits, are my small, dainty jewelry pieces. Each piece of jewelry that I’m wearing is from a special moment or person in my life, which is why I wear them every day. It’s a great way to have a daily reminder of the great people and memories in life.

If you’re looking for a skirttop or jacket to add to your closet, athleisure is the way to go!
