STYLE GURU STYLE: Peacoat Perfection

As the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to change it’s almost impossible to stay inside. I love spending the hour before sunset walking around campus and taking in all the beauty that fall has to offer. When it comes to fall fashion I’m a sucker for classic silhouettes, especially when it comes to outerwear.

This season I was inspired by J.Crew’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. What I loved about the collection was not only their daring approach to pattern and color, but also their dedication to timeless design. The runway boasts familiar silhouettes in the form of blazers, denim, wool coats and turtle necks, but the aesthetic demands creativity and boldness from it’s audience.

The pieces were full of bold jewel tones combined with bright hues and textures. J.Crew embodies classic iconic style with a sweet twist, and this fall was no exception. I took a cue from the warm pops of yellow on the runway with my bright wool peacoat, and paired it with a go-to red striped sweater. I matched these colorful pieces with a pair of simple dark wash skinny jeans, and my favorite brown suede booties. I love how the color and pattern complement each other in this outfit, and, combined with the dark wash denim, work together to create an authentic all-American feeling.

Get My Look: 1. A yellow peacoat. 2. Dark wash skinny jeans. 3. A bright striped sweater. 4. Brown suede booties.
