STYLE GURU STYLE: Patterns, Prints, and Effortless Boho Vibes

Spring is finally here, and the weather is starting to get warmer and warmer each day. My favorite thing about spring and summer fashion is the fun, bright colors and patterns that start popping up. Warm weather means it’s finally acceptable to be bold and bright again, and I have countless fun prints scattered throughout my wardrobe.

But with spring also comes the hot weather and the need to be comfy while you’re on the go. In the summer, I work at a boutique on the boardwalk—the beach is literally my view from the store, and it gets hot when we keep the doors open. That being said, I’m always looking for comfy, breathable fashions for the summertime, because let’s be honest, who wants to shimmy into anything denim when it’s humid out?

Patterned pants are my go-to option for the summertime because they’re comfortable and cute. Seriously, this blue printed pair that I snagged from Target for such a good price literally feel like pajamas. The best part about patterned pants is that they are the statement piece of your entire outfit, so all you have to do is throw on a neutral top with them. For these pants, I like to do a simple white T-shirt to contrast the bright pants and keep with the summer color palette. One of my favorite things to do with simple T-shirts is tie them up in a knot in the front, like I did with this look. Something that takes you less than a minute to do adds a personal style element and adds a touch of casual to any outfit. Finally, to dress up the simple shirt, I added my favorite long pendant necklace. I love long necklaces in the spring and summer because I feel like they add to that casual, boho vibe that I usually express with my warm weather looks.

There’s no need to sacrifice style for comfort when the days start getting more humid; patterned pants and your go-to T-shirt are all you need to recreate this boho-inspired, comfortable look. Find a bold print to express your style and you’re all set.
