Ever since I first met Thakoon at Teen Vogue Fashion University two years ago, I have been obsessed with following his designs. He recently debuted his resort 2016 collection, and I couldn’t be more in love. Patterns are my go-to. They instantly add an explosion of fun to any look and are just so eye-catching. You can build an entire look around them, which makes life so much easier. I am head over heels in love with Thakoon’s patterned pants that have a pop of color. However, with my rendition, I chose to go neutral.
Clothes and accessories are so powerful, which is why I always take pride in what I wear every day. It also means I am super indecisive every morning as I look through my closet. When it comes to patterns, though, they stop traffic and make statements just as you strut on by. They’re an easy choice for me to make, particularly in the form of pants. These pants here are also so comfortable, which also makes them a no-brainer. Since they’re neutral, I can pair them with almost anything, another reason why they’re a favorite in my closet. I try to pick key pieces that are neutral and eye-catching but also work with the rest of my wardrobe (try being the key word).
In this particular case, I chose to match my pants with a denim jacket. I am always on the hunt for the perfect denim jacket, but I like this one because it’s a little oversized. This helps to make my look more casual. Working down, I decided on metallic flats to round out the look. Again, I am obsessed with comfort, and these flats are the perfect solution. It also doesn’t hurt that they match essentially everything but are unique with their pointed toe. Neutral, comfort and statement-making are my keywords when combing through my closet!
