STYLE GURU STYLE: Palazzo Palooza

This season’s spring ready-to-wear collections took fashion to a whole new level. The immense pop of color and pattern have taken over the runway. One of my favorite collections was alice + olivia by designer Stacey Bendet. This collection screams spring and every outfit pops. The alice + olivia collection really fabricates what spring is all about.

This collection made me not only want to go shopping but to test out my own wardrobe. My closet’s favorite seasons are spring and summer. I am the monarch of crop tops, patterned pants and everything in between. When I stumbled upon the first look of the collection I immediately thought of my pair of burnt orange pants that resembled the models.’ The pants are known as palazzo pants. Some can be cropped by the ankle with the wider pant legs or reach the bottom by your feet. Typically they are high-waisted but not always. They are on extreme demand this season because they are super chic and super comfy. The collection also has multiple pairs of palazzos.

I also loved how the look paired a patterned, cropped top with the palazzos. I just so happened to have a replica top. My top looks as if it was bought from an oriental market due to the silk flowers. I found it thrifting at a nearby Goodwill store. To resemble the design even more, I tied the back of my top and tucked the knot under so the shirt appeared to be cropped. Finally, since my palazzos were cropped, I added a pair of caged, tan heels to complete the look.

This spring 2015 collection immediately inspired me to never hold back when mixing multiple colors and patterns together. Bold and bright doesn’t scream gaudy, it exhibits confidence.

Get My Look: 1. A pair of palazzo pants. 2. A matching crop top. 3. A pair of heels.
