STYLE GURU STYLE: Paint The Town Red (and Black)

Alongside huge names like Gucci and Tom Ford, Givenchy’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear line was featured as one of ,.com’s top runway shows, and very deservingly so. Bringing classy and traditional pieces into a contemporary setting, Givenchy’s line pushed boundaries with its unique essence. Predominantly using black and red as bases, the pieces in the line utilized not just colors, but lace, jewels and patterns galore! Using the line as inspiration, I dug through my closet for some old gems I could not wait to break back out.

My black and red dress complemented the runway line as a double whammy with its color and floral pattern. I always wondered why people are so afraid to wear dresses in the fall. If you throw on some black high socks like I did, your legs will stay nice and warm. Black booties are staple shoes that I can always count on to complete an outfit. Closed-toe booties are great fall heels because they cover your feet completely.

Givenchy’s line utilized a lot of dynamic jewelry pieces, prominently worn on the models faces. I didn’t really think I could rock the face jewelry, but I still wanted to incorporate the style some how. I added a big gold statement necklace and some gold earrings to accessorize my look. It’s easy to incorporate Givenchy’s trendy line into your everyday look. It is cool to see a lot of these traditional pieces coming back into play with such a big name designer.

Get My Look: 1. Black and red dress. 2. Black, over-the-knee socks. 3. Booties.
