While I have always been a fan of a more fitted outfit, lately I am loving incorporating baggy pieces into my wardrobe. Combining oversized pieces with tailored pieces can make for a runway-ready look. The pairing of the two different styled fits allows for Fashionistas to show off a more flattering look while not exposing too much.
Inspired by alice + olivia’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I paired together some fitted pieces with some loose-fitting pieces. For this show, the designers chose to layer the looks. Layering pieces with baggy jackets or blazers is one of my go-to looks; therefore, this collection was one of my favorites of the season. To avoid looking too boxy, stick with pairing a fitted top and tailored shorts with your oversized blazer. In nearly every runway show this season, you are sure to see looks made complete by oversized jackets. To ensure that you don’t appear to be swimming in your clothes, tie the look together with a tight tank.
My outfit is made up of a classic tank from H&M tucked into an embroidered pair of linen shorts. To complete the look, I chose an oversized jacket and a pair of booties. To spice it up and add color, I decided to wear MAC’s lipstick in the shade Verve.
Without the jacket, this look would have been extremely simple and somewhat dull. To add a touch of flair, I chose to wear an oversized jacket. This look is the perfect combination of business casual and relaxed and chic.
