STYLE GURU STYLE: On The Fringe

If you take a look through the many fall 2015 collections, you can easily confirm that one of the biggest trends is fringe. Fringe took center stage at the Burberry show as it was featured on endless pairs of booties and handbags. A variety of fringe skirts were showcased in Esteban Cortazar’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. However, one of my favorite shows that featured fringe was Tom Ford’s. Overall, the collection had a strong bohemian vibe, a characteristic that is right up my alley. Some of the fringe looks were more over the top, such as the all-white, long sleeve dress that featured tiers and tiers of fringe. The more subdued looks that showcased the trend were black dresses and skirts with long strands of fringe on the bottom. Even large fringe earrings and bangles with fringe attached were worn throughout the show.

It’s evident that fringe is going to be one of the hottest trends this fall, so I wanted to get in on the fun as soon as possible. Therefore, after recently finding a suede, fringe skirt on Zara’s website, I ran to the nearest storefront the second I had a free moment. I already know that this eye-catching piece will be a staple in my wardrobe in the coming months.

To complete my Tom Ford-inspired look, I paired my on-trend skirt with a dark gray top. Many of the boots in the collection were tall, hitting at about the knee. To beat the heat while remaining in style with the show, I opted for my go-to short black Zara booties. Another common detail from the collection was large necklaces, some of which appeared to be very intricate knot-work. To emulate this trait and complete my look, I chose a metallic statement necklace.

This look is for the bold, bohemian Fashionista. Wearing a fringe item, or even two, is sure to make for a stand-out look that’ll turn heads on the city sidewalk, now and well into the coming seasons.

Get My Look: 1. A fringe skirt. 2. A pair of black booties. 3. A statement-making necklace.
