STYLE GURU STYLE: On The Edge

My look today is inspired by the Alexandre Vauthier spring 2015 Couture show. This collection is edgy, yet chic, and the use of various textures and materials is what really caught my eye. The high boots and the oversized jewelry in the collection make each look very dramatic, and that’s what I love about it.

Black is my all-time favorite color to wear. Black is classic, sleek and it pairs well with everything. However, wearing all black can be boring if not paired with the perfect accessories. I always love to wear a bright colored scarf or some fun jewelry to make my outfit really pop. Today, I am wearing a multi-pattern scarf from Zara. The scarf helps separate the black and it adds an exciting element to my look.

Jewelry is another important element of my look. I like to have fun jewelry to really define my style. The bangles I’m wearing are from Alex and Ani, and the ring I’m wearing on my middle finger is a Pandora ring. I also wear a claddagh ring everyday because it’s simple and it’s sentimental. The claddagh ring is special to me and it has become my signature accessory.

I also like to incorporate different textures into my look, especially when I wear black. This helps prevent my outfit from being too monotone. The fur in my reversible vest works well with my velvet print leggings.

I wore my combat boots with this outfit because I think the edginess of these boots compliments the black nicely. Sometimes I like to switch out the combat boots with a pair of leopard print flats. Adding an animal print takes away a little bit of the edginess, but it adds another element to the outfit that really pops.

Get My Look: 1. Multi-pattern scarf. 2. Velvet print leggings. 3. Reversible faux fur vest.
