STYLE GURU STYLE: Off-The-Shoulders

For this look, I was very inspired by the off-the-shoulder trend that took fashion week by storm. In particular, I was really inspired by the Peter Pilotto spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Almost all of the outfits that graced the runway featured an off-the-shoulder look and I just can’t get enough of it.

I really like the idea of an off-the-shoulder shirt or dress because it gives a nice peek-a-boo effect and really shows off the shoulders. Being that the look just features a cutout versus being completely off-the-shoulders makes it more comfortable and super wearable because you don’t need a strapless bra.

I based my look off a dress from the show that has spaghetti straps and then loose flowing sleeves with a flower pattern print. I really want to re-interpret this look as something that us Fashionistas could easily wear to class.

My top is actually from a store in England that I happened to pick up while I was abroad last semester. However, Forever 21 has got a great off-the-shoulder top just like mine. Finally, I just paired it with some basic blue jeans, a pair of black riding boots and some fun sunglasses.

Get My Look: 1. An off-the-shoulder top. 2. Riding boots. 3. Fun sunglasses.
