STYLE GURU STYLE: Not Just For The Guys

Who says menswear is limited only to men? It’s been a trend in recent years for many women to sport looks created for men during fashion week. From loose jeans to fitted jackets, the whole world of menswear has been dissected among all those with sartorial passion to create outfits that have much fluidity between what is considered for women and for men. Menswear fashion shows have also including women on the runway, and most times these female models pose at the end wearing the same items of clothing male models put on themselves. This trend creates an unlimited amount of wardrobe possibilities and I found that the Dsquared² fall 2015 show offered plenty of looks that female Fashionistas could emulate.

With its overall Western theme, complete with fringed leather jackets and perfectly fitted denim jeans, the Dsquared² show included outfits that could be worn for various occasions. One particular look focused on a plain white T-shirt and a studded leather vest. I took this look and replaced the low-rise jeans worn on the male model for a high-waisted pair. In addition, I wore accessories similar to the outfit like the heavier bracelets and black belt to tie it all together. It was actually quite easy to pull off this look as it required essentially four basic clothing items including the black boots.

In this era of fashion, there are an unlimited amount of combinations to try. Although certain styles may be exclusively made for females or males, it is always a fun experience to blend the two together to create your own personal look.

Get My Look: 1. Your favorite plain white T-shirt. 2. A nice leather vest. 3. A comfy pair of jeans.
