STYLE GURU STYLE: Not All Black And White To Me

April showers bring May flowers, but it seems like June has brought nothing but clouds so far. Maybe it’s just due to the lack of sun, but lately I have been leaning towards black and white outfits. My black and white fixation is most likely due to Calvin Klein’s resort 2016 collection, which has been my source of inspiration. I am a huge fan of color, but sometimes a little black and white can take the day from bleak to chic.

Day to day, I like to look put together; effortless outfits are my go-to. The Calvin Klein resort 2016 collection proves that black and white create minimalist masterpieces when worn together. This pairing of a basic black camisole with black and white printed harem pants is one of my favorite outfits to wear. If I am running late and have to rush myself out the door (which is usually the case), I will throw on an ensemble like this one and be on my way. Not only are black and white outfits quick and easy, but they can really make you look like you tried.

When I am scrambling, I make sure to have a decent pair of shoes on my feet! I was on a month-long search for a pair of sandals to go with most of my wardrobe, and I think that I hit the jackpot with these babies. They haven’t left my feet since. The best part about sandals like mine is their color combination; a tiny bit of gold suits everyone!

Honestly, this look wouldn’t be complete without the statement necklace that I stole—um, I mean, borrowed—from my mom (sorry, Mom). The necklace is a magnificent piece on its own, which is why it goes so well with the rest of this simple outfit. The gold accents of the bib necklace add a richness to the look and also match the gold found on my sandals.

I will definitely be wearing this outfit from time to time this summer. Like Lizzie McGuire, I myself will be an “outfit repeater.” I am okay with that.

Get My Look: 1. Printed harem pants. 2. Statement necklace. 3. Black and gold sandals.
