STYLE GURU STYLE: New Romantics

Free People, or as I like to call it, Mecca, has served as my style inspiration for years. But ever since I started to broaden my horizons and delve into the world of high fashion, Alberta Ferretti has made her way to the top of my list. Both brands are effortlessly chic with their romantic and bohemian pieces, from flowy dresses to soft florals to lace details. Since the weather is finally showing some consistency with warmth, I am finally able to start wearing my romantic, boho pieces inspired by Ms. Ferretti herself.

The Alberta Ferretti spring 2015 ready-to-wear show lived up to the line’s reputation; a collection of ’60s bohemian meets garden princess pieces filled the runway. Thanks to the warm sunshiny day, I was finally able to channel my inner romantic and style this beige dress with Ferretti’s vision in mind. Although she had her models walk in knee-high gladiators, I wasn’t quite ready to make the full transition into summer by wearing sandals. Instead, I opted for a warmer look that included DKNY socks and Chelsea booties.

As for my jewelry, I chose rings and a bracelet that would highlight the silver pieces on the top of the dress. Wearing multiple rings definitely adds to the romantic ’60s flair (and reminds me of Phoebe from Friends) and can complete an outfit when a necklace isn’t needed. I love a dress or shirt that has a lot of detailing at the top or a really elaborate neckline because it can act as an extra accessory itself. No necklace, no problem.

Get My Look: 1. A flowy, Free People dress. 2. Chelsea ankle booties. 3. Super soft trouser socks.
