STYLE GURU STYLE: Neutrals are a Girl’s Best Friend

Pale pink, white, tan and ivory are all essentials when it comes to our summer wardrobes. New seasons call for a new variety of neutrals to accompany any outfit. My personal favorite neutral this season is pale pink. I own it in my tops, bottoms, jewelry and shoes.

Donna Karan also focused on neutrals in her resort 2016 runway styles. Her pieces have a good balance of both structured and unstructured designs. In many of her looks this season she pairs a tapered bottom and an unstructured jacket. Karan’s color palette focuses on whites and tans paired together with an occasional accent color such as black or pink.

I am absolutely loving this trend, but with my skin tone I tend to look ghostly in starch white. This summer I am playing with pale pinks or touches of black to pair with white or tan pieces. To translate Donna Karan’s look to my everyday style, I paired a loose flowing white and black striped dress with a black leather jacket and leopard print flats. If you look on my bio page, you can also see how I paired this dress with a pale pink blazer!

I few items I am loving to accent my summer of neutrals are first and foremost this dress. This striped dress I purchased from Zara in New York and I cannot get enough of it! I also love a good neutral blazer or leather jacket. For this particular look I sprung for a leather jacket because I was going out with friends. Lastly, get a necklace to finish off the look, Kendra Scott has a lot of great options!

Get My Look: 1. A neutral everyday dress. 2. A classic jacket. 3. Jewelry.
