STYLE GURU STYLE: Naturally Casual

The truth is, I like to grab anything out of my closet when I am in a rush to get out of the house. Now that it is summertime, I like to wear crop tops, jean shorts and flip flops. If I am having a bad hair day then I throw on a hat. Lately this has been my go-to outfit. I feel that crop tops, jeans shorts straw hats and flip flops are important summer essentials. You can wear this outfit to class, lunch the mall and more. You can dress this look up or down. If you want to dress this look up, just find a pair of edgy sandals, jewelry, kimono and a cross-body bag. On this particular day I was not in the mood to dress up but I still wanted my outfit to look put together.

My look was inspired by the Milly collection. There were many great collections from different designers, but this one stood out to me the most. In this collection by Michelle Smith, there are a lot of neutrals colors mixed with some spring colors. Smith dressed her model in bustier tops paired with shorts, pants and skirts. These pieces stood out to me the most. Throughout the collection, the designer continued with simple but causal chic looks. I liked how the model in this collection wore minimum makeup and her hair slicked back. It brought more attention to her outfits rather then her face. These outfits are trendy and wearable.

My outfit consists of a crop top and ripped shorts from American Eagle Outfitters. Flip flops from Old Navy make this outfit look super casual. To make my outfit look more stylish I added a straw hat, which can be found at any clothing store. I also added my favorite red lipstick from Mac called “Riri Woo.”

Get My Look: 1. Crop top. 2. Ripped shorts. 3. Straw hat.
