When it comes to fashion, I have said it before and I will say it again; I do not like to wear just one style. I mix it up between trendy, preppy, classic and grungy. However, I would be lying if I did not say that there was one style I identify with and tend to wear most often: boho. I like to look breezy, comfortable and carefree. I love maxi skirts, loose crop tops, headwraps, sandals, gauzy materials and unique patterns. I love to stack mixes of leather and gold bracelets, and I like to wear an eclectic variety of rings. I think the boho style looks naturally pretty, which is why I like it way more than a glam and girly look.
The Anna Sui spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection was basically my version of perfection. The bohemian vibe was in full flare, and I feel like every look got better and better. The detail she put into the complete looks was outstanding. From the hairpieces, the shoes, the bags even the natural looking nails; every detail was on point. Her version of bohemian gave off a super hippie vibe, which I was 100 percent ok with. I would have loved to have been able to see the ’60s for even a day (OK, maybe that day was a part of Woodstock).
The outfit I am wearing is similar to what I wear probably two to three times a week and is channeling my inner Anna Sui. My white gauze top from Marshalls is breezy and perfect for summer; I also love the shorter length. My leather belt from Dorothy Perkins ties in with my leather and gold bracelet and ring stacks. My jean shorts are the perfect dark wash from J.Crew Factory, and my brown KINO sandals give off the boho vibe with its toe loop buckle. Finally, my bag has my favorite selection of colors and the long cross-body silhouette is perfect for the bohemian style.
Anna Sui’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection is definitely in my top three favorite runway shows ever. That is how much I love it. Try to channel your inner bohemian before summer ends, and let your carefree spirit come out and play.
