STYLE GURU STYLE: Mood Changes With The Seasons

Personal style for me is a hard thing to describe, you will always have that base style that is your go-to when you want something convenient and something you feel comfortable in. This base style for me is definitely basics, whether its a plain leotard with jeans or a simple shirt with a cute jean or corduroy skirt.

Beyond your base style comes those every once in a while eye catchers, that amazing piece you find at your favorite store that you just cannot pass up. For me, this piece is either a cute jacket, shoes or a dress. I always find myself keeping my shirt selection very basic, but sometimes with a dressier material and then add my extra “wow factor” with accessorizing around the shirt with pieces like a cute leather, suede or denim jacket and, as fall approaches, oversized scarves.

For me, keeping a basic on your bottom is also my personal style. I find myself sticking to dark blue or black jeans sometimes with your occasional rip in them to give my style that day a little edge. My style changes with the weather just as everyones does. In the fall and winter months, I definitely find myself layering a lot more than I would in the warmer months, whether its a thigh high pair of socks over my jeans or leggings, or a vest over a sweater topped off with an oversized scarf and knit hat.

Currently my obsession is neutral color schemes, I would say that is the direction my personal style is going in for this fall and winter season. Just something about the dark greens, tans, browns and burgundy screams out “YES PURCHASE IT” to me. If I have one tip to give about personal style it is, do whatever it is that you want, you see something different in a store and think “maybe that’s too weird” forget it! Buy it.

Dressing for yourself is the only way to make sure you feel amazing. You should be wearing something that makes you feel like the greatest thing in the world, even if other people have different opinions about your outfit being cute or not. For me and my personal style, I do not dress to fit in, I dress to standout.
