STYLE GURU STYLE: Minimalist Luxe

Rich jewel tones and slouchy silhouette dominate the Creatures of Comfort fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. The collection features breezy layered pieces such as wide-legged trousers, flowing skirts, dresses and a nod to menswear. My favorite thing about this collection is its mix of minimalism and luxury, not to mention a plethora of pieces that can be mixed and matched and worn any time during the year whether the sun is out or snow is falling.

I was inspired to give this look of luxury a try by pairing a slouchy boyfriend blazer with a trendy (and comfy!) black palazzo pant. By choosing a light-weight fabric for both pieces, this look is cool enough for summer days and gives enough coverage for chilly nights. I opted for a blazer in a mustard yellow shade that pairs well with any combination of neutrals. I love that this look is dressy enough for work, yet fun enough for a night out. To make it even more formal, you can choose a sleeveless chiffon blouse for an airy and elegant feel. Palazzo pants are just as comfy as yoga pants but can be worn for twice as many occasions. A black pair goes with anything and can become a new staple in your wardrobe.

I chose simple, delicate jewelry to maintain the minimalism of my look. Opt for a mix of metals with fun shapes for a whimsical touch. The simplicity of minimalist jewelry allows for a classic no-fuss look. I’m in love with menswear-inspired fashion, so I chose a saddle shoe with a modern silhouette for a retro vibe. This look can be taken to night by simply swapping the saddle shoes for a classic black pump. I’m a flats kind of girl, so this oxford style is my go-to.

I finished this look off with a red lip and minimal eye makeup. An easy, beachy wave tops it all off with an air of simplicity.

Get My Look: 1. Slouchy blazer. 2. High-waisted palazzo pants. 3. Saddle shoes.
