STYLE GURU STYLE: Midterm Madness

Quizzes, midterms, study sessions, all-nighters—fall semester is halfway done, and the stress is real! But wait, that means there’s no time for a girl’s night out, right? Wrong!

No matter how packed your schedule may be, it’s super important to stay sane by going out and having some fun with friends every once in a while. It not only gives you a chance to walk away from all the homework for a few hours, but it’s also a perfect excuse to show off your style and wear those cute heels you bought last weekend.

My style honestly depends on the day of the week; I can be wearing nude pumps and pink clothing one day, and the next I’ll be walking around my campus looking like Wednesday Addams’s twin. On this evening in particular, I was rooting more towards neutrals and dark fall tones. I gave my brown loose tee a v-neck to take a bit of its simplicity away, leaving the collar attached to resemble a choker. The black pencil skirt is one of my DIY projects that I created around this past spring particularly for fall, and it was perfect for the occasion; it received so many compliments and it’s one of the most comfortable pieces I’ve ever made!

That being said, I’m a huge fan of staying comfortable at all times, but I decided to get out of my comfort zone for the night and finish my outfit off with black fringed suede heels. Yes, being mid-October the night was a bit chilly, but I stayed warm with an oversized jean jacket which I cropped and gave a frayed and distressed look to at the bottom.

I’m halfway done with fall semester and halfway done with community college, so my plans for transferring to a university in New York are becoming more real by the minute. As maintaining an outstanding GPA and being involved on campus is a necessity, we can’t forget to treat ourselves, guys. Hit the books and make sure you’re doing whatever it takes to be successful, but as soon as the weekend is here, go out and have some fun! From experience, I can tell you that it’s absolutely worth it.
