STYLE GURU STYLE: Maxi Mania

Dressing up in the summer doesn’t just mean that classic sundress. More and more, maxi dresses have been taking over the summer season. With the versatile way to make them look, dressed up or casual is what draws many to them. They are perfect for any occasion, from a night at the beach to a graduation party. The maxi mania has taken the summer scene by storm.

Ulla Johnson resort 2016 show is what I took my outfit inspiration from. The patterned dresses were filled with bright colors but some had more neutral ones, as well. All of the dresses had different cuts from strapless to cutouts. For my look, I decided to stick with a simple, neutral patterned maxi dress. I chose a strapless dress from Forever 21 with some lace detailing on top. It gave the simple style and cut an added flare to it. The pattern of the dress I chose was more tribal, but it also had some blue stripes going along it to accompany the tribal print. The colors were filled with blues, browns and blacks.

To accessorize my look, I decided to keep it more simple by adding a long pendant necklace from J.Crew. I added some nude sandals from Target with my outfit. I wanted to let the dress stand out the most in my look because of the pattern and detailing it had. Too much jewelry or too bright of shoes would of thrown off the ensemble.

Get My Look: 1. Patterned maxi dress. 2. Pendant necklace. 3. Neutral sandals.
