STYLE GURU STYLE: Master Mix

As school comes to a close, a summer of fun commences. Some will be traveling across the world (lucky!), while others, like me, will be vying in the real world as an intern. Either way, a cool trick to try this season is mixing and matching. Personally, I switch it up with prints, fabrics and colors to add more depth. While I just like to play around and see what works, designer Stella Jean really shows us how to “slay” in mixed prints. In the design house’s spring 2015 collection, you’ll find a mix of bold colors, florals, plaid and material. The collection shows that mastering the look can be as simple or complex as you want it to be.

I chose the simple way by only using my bottoms and shoes for the prints. Since I am interning this summer, I’m looking for ways to still be fashionable and professional, so I chose simple stripes on top. The shirt can easily go from day to night and can be worn tucked or untucked.

I love bold colors, so my pants are my favorite part of this outfit. The skinny ankle length bottoms are the perfect work-appropriate attire in length and fit. (Plus, they look great with heels!)

Leopard print shoes are an absolute stable for any girl. They are so easily matched with any outfit and can be worn during the day to work, class or for a night out. Keeping the accessories simple is key to pulling off this trend. Using only one neutral statement piece helps pull the look together without going overboard.

Get My Look:  1. Striped shirt. 2. Pink pants. 3. Leopard loafers.
