STYLE GURU STYLE: Marine Blue

As I was perusing Style.com, I came across the Apiece Apart spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I was instantly drawn to the vibrant blues and pinks seen in the first few threads. If these hues don’t scream summer I don’t know what does. The blue dress and crop top are so crisp that it reminds me of a cool pool on a hot summer’s day. Those two pieces were the main inspiration for my look. I styled my outfit so that it could be worn to any event you might find yourself at during the summer, like a pool party or a backyard barbecue.

I chose a romper because they are effortless to style since it is only one piece. They’re loose and comfy so you don’t have to worry about any material clinging to your body while the summer sun is blazing down—as it usually does in the Sunshine State. The ruffle on the top of the romper has the look of the boxy crop top seen in the collection. Even though it is strapless, the romper gives off the same vibe and did I mention how awesome the pockets were?

The “Gator Blue” color, as I like to call it, of my romper is a shade closely resembling the one Hout and Cramer use, making it a perfect outfit for a tailgate out in The Swamp. Its simplicity is also similar to many of the runway pieces, as the designers don’t add too many accessories to the looks.

Even with the lack of accessories on the models, I added a simple geometric necklace and two single rings to add my own personal touch.  Every outfit in the collection is matched with sunglasses, which are a must for the summertime anyways. I love my tortoiseshell pair and wear them with practically everything.

I kept it classic on the feet by wearing a pair of braided sandals and sported a fun, loose side braid to keep my hair off my back.

Get My Look: 1. Blue romper. 2. Sunglasses. 3. Black sandals.
