STYLE GURU STYLE: Making a Print

June 23rd, 2015 at 2:10am

I have always been a fan of bold patterns. Most of my wardrobe is comprised of neutral tone basics and black. Splurging once in a while on a bold patterned jacket, pants or shirt not only changes up my wardrobe but also pushes me to step out of my comfort zone, something that we all need every once and a while.

I took inspiration for this look from the Burberry Prorsum men’s 2015 runway collection. Head designer Christopher Bailey expertly combines masculine and feminine with classic, boxy male jackets and bold, feminine shirt patterns. His collection shows men in the classic Burberry trench coat, with a vibrantly patterned dress shirt underneath and a neon tie. This combination of classic neutrals and pops of feminine color is what I chose to style my look after.

I have always looked to Burberry’s female and male collections to gain inspiration for classic looks. Bailey always seems to effortlessly create closet staples that have their own flare. As a Fashionista, I am always looking for a way to set my look apart from everyone else. I love to take current trends and put my own spin on them. Putting my own touch on trends allows me to make my style unique which has always been one of my favorite things about fashion. Burberry reminds me to never forget the classics, even when I am caught up in the whirlwind of new trends.
