STYLE GURU STYLE: Lovin’ On Leather

The pre-fall 2015 Sass & Bide fashion show was full of leather, leather, leather. In almost every piece of the collection was either leather booties, leather jacket, leather skirt or a mix of both. Seeing as I draw to black, this fashion line stood out to me. The way the coats and skirts were cut very boldly made for a clean, sleek ensemble. The leather brought the whole outfit together making either a blouse or sweater more edgy, which is what I really loved. Sometimes too much black in an outfit can be too dark or lack some hint of color, but Sass & Bide delivered classy looks with a bit of an edge.

Since black is my go-to color, I was all over this look. I wore a black leather jacket and leather booties with a grey sweater. To add a little something different to the outfit I tried a black satin skirt. The black follows down the entire outfit, but the grey lightens it up a bit. Mixing leather and the satin skirt was a risk, but I think it flows with the other elements adding something different to compliment the leather.

Sass & Bide inspired me to throw a little edge into my usually classy look, and I loved the results! All the black could be overwhelming, but I think it looks tough and powerful. If you want to add some color, you can always add a red or pink lip color, a bright bag or some really fun jewelry.

Get My Look: 1. Leather booties. 2. Full skirt. 3. Gray sweater.
