STYLE GURU STYLE: Long, Tan And Handsome

The weather outside is frightful, and if you’re like me, a person who goes to school in an area that experiences the lake effect, it’s a brutal fight to get to class in the morning. It’s easy to slip on a pair of sweatpants and call it a day, but that’s not something I want to do constantly. You have to find a balance between chic and warmth.

I paid attention to the Hellessy spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection this season. All the looks featured long fluid items. The color is what mainly struck me: they were mainly nude, which seemed odd to me for a spring collection that I felt should showcase more bright colors. The aspects of the clothing gave off a boxy “cool” attitude. This was perfect for me to coordinate into my closet. I can feel great about myself by looking fashionable for class, yet I could also make it look like an effortless attempt.

I went thrifting locally and found this awesome trench coat. The tan color fits in well with the snow-covered landscape. If it was warmer outside, I would open up the coat to show off the rest of my outfit. Until the temperature decides to reach above zero again, it will stay buttoned-up. However, I did leave the top button undone to reveal my Edelweiss scarf pendant. I picked this up in my travels in Germany, and it helps to add a pop of color to the outfit.

I finish the outfit with my light wash jeans and boots to complement the two main items. I love getting my jeans from American Eagle Outfitters. Their sizes come in extra long length, which is perfect for my long legs. Clarks is also a great place to find shoes in any style. It’s hard to find quality boots that fit in my size. Even though these shoes have a decent heel, I’m still able to walk comfortably in style to class in the morning.

Get My Look: 1. A long flowing trench coat. 2. An accent scarf or necklace. 3. Tall boots.
