STYLE GURU STYLE: Living In Lace

January 18th, 2016 at 2:00am

It took awhile for winter to get here this year however, it’s finally time to load up on coats and embrace those lovely dark hues. The pre-fall 2016 Chanel runway collection is definitely a glamorous representation of my everyday style. This collection features a wide variety of knitted coats paired with bold prints or detailed dresses. I was drawn to the first look because I adore a little white dress underneath a big coat. When shopping for clothing, I always fall in love with delicate lace. I don’t like lace to be too overpowering, so the black tights shown in this collection are just the right amount to add to an outfit.

I took inspiration from the runway collection by wearing a pair of rose printed tights. I decided to be a little bit more adventurous instead of just going for simple black. Tights are my excuse for wearing dresses all year-round. I have on a sapphire blue Motel Rocks bodycon dress that is able to stand out under my all outerwear. Long coats are in trend, but I added a short leather jacket underneath for a great layered look. Every girl should invest in a pair of strappy pointy heels because it’s an easy way to create a timeless look.

My accessories consist of basic winter essentials. Men’s beanies are usually more simplistic and my black Crooks and Castles pom pom beanie gives off a nice street style vibe. Touch screen is a must when it comes to gloves. These leather Lauren by Ralph Lauren gloves are perfect for all my phone needs during my walk to class. My outfit couldn’t be complete without a big sophisticated bag. White is a refreshing choice since my outfit is mostly black. I thought that my bag needed a little accessorizing too, so I put on a fun keychain to match.

Get My Look: 1. Knit coat. 2. Strappy pointed toe heels. 3. Patterned tights.
