STYLE GURU STYLE: Linen Love

Lately, loose fitted everything has been on my radar; all for no particular reason, other than the fact that it’s comfortable. Why not dress baggy? I feel that there is a way to wear loose fitted clothing while still looking feminine, and I think Apiece Apart’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection would agree with me.

Apiece Apart’s spring 2015 collection combines free flowing linens and solid bold colors together to create a match made in heaven. This line perfects the baggy versus girly look with different details added throughout it. This particular look is a favorite of mine. The off the shoulder crop top shows just the right amount of skin to go along with the movement of the linen pant.

Taking inspiration from Apiece Apart, I decided to pair together loose fabrics with different textures to change up my look. Instead of counteracting a roomy pant with a tight top and vice versa, I chose to put two oversized pieces together.

My outfit includes an embroidered baby-doll top with a simple white linen pant from GAP. I added a nude wedged heel to my look to throw in a warm color and bronze accessories to match the shoe. My teal colored purse was added for some flair but also goes along with the color scheme used in the runway collection.

Looks like denim on denim or gray on gray should not be questioned, just like my oversized look in this outfit. When the right pieces are added together and styled to fit with the trending times, then there is no harm in grabbing what you like and throwing it together. My loose fitted pieces are able to come together when combined with the right accessories. This relaxed outfit is fun to wear because I can look girly while feeling comfortable at the same time.

Get My Look: 1. Linen pant. 2. Loose fitted top. 3. Off beat handbag. 4. Nude wedges.
