STYLE GURU STYLE: Let’s Get Adventurous

It’s pretty widely accepted that spring and summer style is all about easy, breezy pieces that blend into a sunny, carefree atmosphere. At the same time, what I love most about summer fashion is experimenting with cool patterns, interesting colors and the like. This is what I love most about the Roberto Cavalli spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. With bold pieces and daring lengths, it practically screams adventure. Its use of rich hues, attention-grabbing prints and contrasting textures gives the collection major personality, and after viewing the garments, I couldn’t help but be inspired by the looks.

In my personal wardrobe, I usually stick to neutral shades with a bit of color thrown in. I have many pieces that are black, white or tan, and I love to mix and match to create cool contrast! I’m also a huge fan of animal prints; leopard and zebra are my favorites. And, of course, no outfit is complete without a pop of color.

So, it comes as no surprise that the thing I love most about the Roberto Cavalli spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is its use of striking prints and that the zebra print garments were my favorite. Making note of this, I drew inspiration by donning my favorite zebra print dress! The dress is actually tea-length, but I wanted to make it warm weather appropriate, and I did so by folding the dress upwards. I secured the look with a belt to take inspiration from the various neutral hues found throughout the collection. Chunky ankle strap heels accessorize many looks throughout the collection, so I added my ankle strap sandals as well. Finally, I paid homage to the rich colors with an army green clutch. The studs on the clutch emphasize the daring nature of each look.

Get My Look: 1. A breezy dress in an exotic print. 2. A clutch in a rich, muted color. 3. A wide waist belt in a neutral hue.
