STYLE GURU STYLE: Ladylike in White

A long sleeved fit and flare dress is the perfect look to wear out to brunch on a casual day out. I’m normally not fond of overly feminine clothing. Frills, bows, ruffles and polka dots are normally something I avoid. However, small feminine touches like delicate lace sleeves are something I’m still comfortable in. Fun and flirty dresses are a current trend for summer 2015.

The inspiration from my outfit comes from the Michael Kors 2015 spring collection. Michael Kors created a collection that is feminine and classic American sportswear. His use of floral prints actually inspired me to get in touch with my delicate, womanly side. There are many different sides to this collection that I love. Many of his looks are quite preppy and polished. I really fell in love with the playful, floral lace dresses in this ready-to-wear collection.

Feminine clothing has always been an issue for me. At the age of three, I actually started cutting bows off of my clothing. For the longest time, I was a little tomboy. Jeans are pretty much a comfort item for me. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and wear a ladylike dress

My outfit consists of a white, textured fit and flare dress, lace tights, a structured satchel and jeweled flats. If you are uncomfortable, like myself, in wearing a lot of lace, tights are a great option. Flats can be a great way to complete a casual, feminine look. Flats with embellishment can be a lot of fun and add a little extra pop to an outfit.

Get My Look: 1.White lace dress. 2. Lace tights. 3. Embellished flats. 4. Structured satchel.
