STYLE GURU STYLE: Knit Sweaters

I never thought you could wear knits from head to toe and still look good doing it. Clearly, French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel has opened my eyes to a whole new world. Knits were extremely present at Rykiel’s recent pre-fall 2015 runway show. From textured tights to dressy bodysuits, this line is sure to keep you warm and fashionable. The play with different colors like navy blue and desert green were very tasteful against the knit material. This helps a lot during the winter since you’re surrounded by snow, the colors won’t be too distracting. Knits are very comfortable to wear and are usually pretty stretchy. Plus you don’t have to worry too much about getting them wrinkled. Some people worry that you can’t be dressy in knits but clearly Rykiel has proven them wrong with her collection.

I was so inspired by this runway show that I decided to try it out. I have on a plaid knit cropped sweater with some desert brown high-waisted pants to give myself some shape. I wanted to go on the more casual side of the knit world so I kept it simple with my accessories. I paired my outfit off with my favorite brown knee-high boots and black beanie to seal the deal.

This pre-fall 2015 show inspired me to stay warm and stylish. Knits can be everyone’s best friend if you know what colors to play with.

Get My Look: 1. A comfortable plaid knit sweater. 2. High-waisted jeggings. 3. A pair of knee-high boots.
