alice + olivia is one of my favorite contemporary brands. Mix in their fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection and I am head over heels in love. Dark burgundy mixed with dramatic black accents. Leather, fur, lace, oh my! This collection screams gorgeous with beautiful, rich color combinations and furnished with even better materials (who doesn’t love a good leather skirt?).
As September is approaching and August is winding to an end, I decided to steal a little bit of what alice + olivia’s style. Pairing this loud jumpsuit with some simple sandals and some designer under eye circles, I feel like I am the epitome of alice + olivia’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection.
Mixing the dark red with the bold navy, especially in a jumpsuit, really makes this piece stand out. Drama isn’t just meant for those long-legged models on the runway. It’s also meant for a sleepy college student on a weekday morning before coffee. Don’t be afraid of unusual pieces or even weirder prints.
I normally would have strayed far away from this outfit. Jumpsuits are not your typical jeans nor is a loud print your favorite white T-shirt. alice + olivia did not run away from these fears. They made them even more pronounced. I think it’s time to face my fears, with the little help of my favorite brands.
While my favorite jeans and T-shirt will always be my go-to, sometimes you never know what you like until you try it. Being comfortable is good, but being too comfortable is never a good thing. With this look, I baby-stepped out of my comfort zone into something new and exciting. What isn’t exciting about a jumpsuit?
