You know when you get out of the shower and you spend at least 30 minutes in your towel? Most of us (including me) do this because we dread starting the journey that is getting dressed. As fun as fashion is, it can be a lot of effort to coordinate a killer outfit. Well, for all you Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there looking to simplify your beauty routine like I am, I’ve got a solution that you’re going to jump on!
A few seasons back, the romper made a name for itself. Now, its longer and leaner cousin is coming out to play and I couldn’t be happier. One of the hottest trends hitting runways and designer collections for spring and summer 2014 is the jumpsuit. From Fendi to Urban Outfitters, designers have been integrating jumpsuits into their lines in all shapes, prints and sizes. My personal favorite example can be seen on Style.com in the Whit Spring 2014 collection. The very last look is a fun, tropical print jumpsuit that could go from light vacation outfit to evening wear in seconds. A jumpsuit adds endless versatility to anyone’s collection because it can go from day to night with nothing but a switch of the shoes.
The idea of a jumpsuit appeals to me personally for numerous reasons. Not only is it unique, but it is an effortless way to chic up your wardrobe. I tend to dress casually from day to day with very simple fabrics like cottons and denims, but sometimes a little silk or chiffon is long overdue to switch things up. A somewhat sheer and intriguingly cut jumpsuit adds a little flare to my relaxed style. Not to mention I love choosing things with an open back for summer because they highlight my favorite tattoo in the best way.
With this jumpsuit there were no directions needed; all I had to do to integrate it into my own closet was pair it with a few favorite accessories, and there you have it! I personally chose a solid black for my first endeavor, but going for a brighter color or a bold print is just as useful and easy to style.
Clocking in at 5’2″ and a little on the curvier side, I prove that you don’t have to be long and lean to pull off this trend. Anyone can rock this with confidence. This recent runway staple gives Fashionistas on the run like me the best of both worlds: a one-stop shop outfit with all the class and style of a multifaceted look.
