STYLE GURU STYLE: It's Sneaker Night

The weather is finally warming up here in Milan, the spring flowers have started to bloom, and with them, spring fashion. I have a few staples that I consider perfect for spring and they were displayed wonderfully in 6397’s pre-fall 2015 collection. Designer Stella Ishii incorporated basic T-shirts with an array of denim and funky sneakers. My recent purchase of Pinko, white leather sneakers inspired me to test out 6397’s simple look, with some added Milanese spunk.

I started with my spring favorite current/elliot boyfriend jeans. Their slouchy look and cuffed detail are perfect to pair with the sneakers. The style of the boyfriend jeans give a casual feel, while the light wash is essential for spring. These details balance out the clean-cut style of the white sneaks. While the sneakers are casual, they also bring a unique style to the look.

I separated a little from 6397’s show by adding a patterned crop top to my outfit. The addition of a pattern was necessary to contrast the whiteness of the sneakers and the simplicity of the denim. The babydoll cut of the crop top gives a nice separation from free-flowing top to the structured jeans, while the pattern and color adds some fun.

Finally, my addition of the suede tan jacket makes my style a bit more Milanese, since the Italians will not put away their jackets until summer begins! Truthfully, the tan jacket is totally in-style for the spring season. It’s light-weight fit and neutral color makes it an appropriate choice for spring weather.

I stuck with 6397’s look and used minimal accessories and let my funky sneaks do all the talking! Stay on-trend this spring and comfortable by getting some sneakers to change up your look!

Get My Look: 1. A pair of fresh sneakers. 2. A super slouchy pair of boyfriend jeans. 3. A light, tan jacket for cool spring evenings.
