STYLE GURU STYLE: It's All in the Details

Having good style doesn’t just mean having a large variety of clothes, but rather what you do with the pieces you have and your ability to make every detail in your outfit count. When I first got the cardigan I’m wearing in this outfit, the only size available was a large. I was afraid it would be too long on me and would look strange since it went past my knees. However, it’s an excellent piece that I’m able to wear with a multitude of other clothing.

I paired the cardigan with a black cropped tank, a bralette, a layered necklace, light blue denim capris, and moccasins. The outfit may not look comfy, but it truly is. Since my tank is plain black, the necklace and bralette really help accentuate and tie together the entire outfit. I find myself wearing one or the other if I’m wearing a plain top, because with one simple piece the whole outfit looks different and better. Rather than wearing boots, I wanted to wear moccasins to help give off the cozy vibe that the oversize cardigan was giving.

This outfit made me feel confident, comfortable, and was the perfect outfit to wear while walking around my campus. Before this outfit, I had never worn my necklace, and I had never worn a dark color under my cardigan. This shows that with a little mixing and matching in your wardrobe, you can make new and super cute outfits without going out and buying a new one! It’s all in the details.
