STYLE GURU STYLE: It’s All About the Classics!

Happy New Year everyone! During the holiday season, spending time with friends and family has always been a very classic tradition. As a fan of the classics, I always keep as many timeless pieces as possible in my wardrobe. The pre-fall 2016 collection from Burberry once again shows us that classic is always in style.

They have announced that by the end of 2016, their sub-brands Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London and Burberry Brit will all consolidate under one name: Burberry. We live in a world where fashion trends change by the second. However, as Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” This quote helps me explain why I believe in the classics. When looking at Burberry’s line, I could not help but notice that regardless of how the fashion world has evolved, the military influence on Burberry’s trench coats has stayed throughout the years. In the pre-fall 2016 collection, Christopher Bailey, chief creative and chief executive officer of Burberry, keeps the iconic double-breasted trench coat but combines it with a high-belted, A-line design to give it a more feminine look.

Inspired by Burberry’s new collection, I created this outfit trying to combine classic pieces with femininity. I paired my Burberry trench coat from the iconic Heritage collection with the checked cashmere scarf, which is another classic piece. To add just a little more femininity, I chose one of the hottest boots of the season— the Highland Boot from Stuart Weitzman. This knee-high boot comes with a four-inch heel, but it is very comfortable to walk in. Its soft suede leather and the cute bow at the back finish this look with a feminine flare.
