STYLE GURU STYLE: It’s A Match!

Matching sets became popular quickly this spring and summer, but it is now becoming more and more clear that this trend is here to stay. Some might say that matching sets look too plain jane or too matchy-matchy. However, at the same time, wearing a matching set makes you look incredibly put together. Erin Fetherston’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection inspired me to make it my mission to find a matching set that inspired others to jump on this trend bandwagon.

With the feminine, whimsical and romantic vibes that comes from Fetherston’s collection gave me the inspiration to find a romantic lace matching set of my very own. I happened to stumble across this lace short sleeve crop top and matching bodycon skirt online and instantly fell in love. I absolutely adore the sheer and lace detailing on both of these pieces. This look is perfect for a night out or formal event if you substitute flats with a pair of ankle strap heels. Otherwise, you can easily mix and match the set and create several more casual looks for everyday wear. Because I am a college student and do not have many occasions to get dressed up I decided to show a way you can dress down a matching set that naturally looks too classy to wear for a regular day of class. I opted for flats instead of heels and of course added a jean jacket, which is basically my signature accessory. I threw my hair up into a half up bun look and went for a more natural makeup look as well to keep it as casual as I could.

Get My Look: 1. Matching set. 2. Flats. 3. Jean jacket.
